I remember a story my son's piano teacher told me many years ago. She had low self esteem until one day one teacher noticed her and complemented her on how well she was doing. In that moment, she was changed. She began to believe in herself. That one person that showed interest in her abilities and believed in her changed everything she had been believing. She believed she couldn't do it. Now, she was inspired. Not only could she do it, she did. She became a pianist and achieve her goal.
What is your inspiration? Did someone believe in your when you were a child? Or were you beat down by words until you were an adult? Or are you still struggling daily to believe you can? In each of these things you are not alone. Someone has been there, done that and got the T-shirt. As a matter of fact, I have many of the T-shirts. Believing in myself has been an up and down roller-coaster ride. Self doubt is within all of us, but the Great News is so is the POWER to OVERCOME. You may have to tell yourself daily or even hourly that you are enough. You can. You can do whatever it is you want by putting in the effort to believe. Take action to change you thoughts and your reactions to difficult situations.
You can be happy and full of joy during the storms of life. It is natural to sink during the storm. You have to get out of what seems natural, the negative and press into the extraordinary, the positive. Don't settle for what seems like a natural response but grow to your greatest potential. You can do anything you set your mind to do. Did you get that? You set your mind to do. If you set your mind to be sad and lonely, you will be. Look around you, that is most likely what you are living right now. Stop It!! Stop believing that is what you deserve. Set your mind to a better life. Take action. You will look back and be amazed at how far you've come. I'm proof this is true.
Reflections: Life has kicked me when I was down on more than one occasion. I took time to catch my breath and then I fought back with everything I had. It isn't always easy, but the joy and happiness is worth it. Sometimes I didn't know which way to turn but God guided my way. My favorite poem is "Footprints in the Sand". I believe the lowest of lows are when he was carrying me.
