I’m very excited to share my story. I hope it inspires others to be the best “You”, you can be.
I’ve always been that small person that could eat anything and never gain weight until I had my second child and developed pregnancy induced hypertension. I was put on blood pressure meds and slowly started gaining weight. I was ok with it at first. I’m 5’8″ and weighted less than 100 lbs so the weight made me look healthy. As years passed and I reached my 40s, I continued to gain weight. No matter what I did, I couldn’t stop it. I sank in a depression over time, and had many health problems from knee surgery to a radical hysterectomy. After the hysterectomy, I jumped up 30 more pounds.
At my heaviest, I didn’t know what to do. I talked with an old friend from high school who is a Beachbody Coach. I did a lot of research before I joined in January of this year. I’ll be honest, it isn’t easy. I have to push myself everyday but with the support of my family and Beachbody. I’m seeing changes in my health and my body. I’m getting stronger physically and emotionally. I look forward to each new day.
This is the beginning of my journey. I’m a very picky eater so I haven’t changed so much what I eat but how much of it, smaller meals. I’ve made myself get up and move, not always “work-out” but play. I hola-hoop, play badminton or something fun. I also walk on the treadmill, ride my bike and my favorite is swimming. After my knee surgery I can’t run or do lunges unless I’m in the pool so that’s my favorite place to crank up the music and play!! As you may have noticed I don’t like to workout so I call it playing, sounds more fun, and who doesn’t enjoy fun.
Last week I walked my first 5k. I had so much fun, I’ve signed up for 3 more so far. Being a Beachbody Coach, I’ve learned just get up and move. I’d love to have you on my team. Let’s get your journey started and have some fun.
